How to Complete Page 1a: General Facts

Overview

Page 1a collects essential information about your organization, including facility details, size metrics, and key program data. This information helps establish context for comparing organizations of similar scale and scope.

Before You Begin

Gather the following information:

  • Venue and facility records

  • Education program participation data

  • Volunteer/engagement statistics

  • Metropolitan Statistical Area data (from census.gov or datausa.io)

Completing This Page

Basic Information

  1. Select your Primary Venue from the dropdown list

  2. Enter the Year Facility Built

  3. If applicable, enter the Recent Major Renovation Year

  4. Select your organization's IRS Designation

Size and Scope

  1. Enter your Metropolitan Statistical Area population

  2. Input your facility's total Square Footage

    • Include only revenue-generating spaces

    • Do not include parking facilities or storage

    • Do not include non-performance facilities (unless they generate operating revenue)

Program Statistics

  1. Enter the Total # of people engaged by your Center

  2. For education programs:

    • Enter Total # of people engaged by your Center's Education programs

    • Include all participants across all programs provided by the Ed dept.

Special Considerations

  • Broadway Programming
    If you present Broadway shows, select "Yes" and specify the type of presentation (rental, self-presented, or co-presented)

  • Anomalies
    Use the notes field to explain any significant changes or unique circumstances affecting your data

Tips for Success

  • Update your MSA population annually using current census data

  • When counting total engagement, include all individuals who participated in any center activity (including students, etc)

  • All fields auto-save as you enter data
