What are Platform Settings?

Platform Settings in Performance Analytics are the administrative tools that enable you to configure your organization's profile, manage user access, track data submissions, define your organizational structure, and maintain your subscription. These tools are essential for ensuring your organization's data is properly structured and that the right people have appropriate access to the platform.

Accessing Platform Settings

All Platform Settings are accessed through the same location:

  1. Click the ⚙️ Settings icon in the top-right corner of any screen

  2. Select the desired settings module from the dropdown menu:

All Settings Modules

My Organization

Manages your organization's core identity information, including name, address, and key organizational metrics. This information is used throughout the platform for reporting and classification purposes.

Key capabilities:

  • Update organization name and contact information

  • Define organization type and legal structure

  • Specify venue count and square footage value used in per square foot metrics

Activity Spaces

Maintains a comprehensive inventory of your organization's performance and non-performance spaces. This information is used for space utilization metrics, occupancy cost calculations, and capacity analysis.

Key capabilities:

  • Create and manage venue inventory

  • Define performance vs. non-performance spaces

  • Track venue capacity and ownership

  • Configure occupancy cost inclusion/exclusion

User Management

Controls user access to your organization's Performance Analytics instance, including what data users can view and modify.

Key capabilities:

  • Create and manage user accounts

  • Assign predefined roles or custom permissions

  • Control access to specific modules and features

  • Activate or deactivate user accounts

Analytics Contribution Tracker (Data History)

Monitors the status of your organization's data submissions across fiscal years and products (Benchmark and Compensation).

Key capabilities:

  • Track data submission status

  • Submit completed data for inclusion in analytics

  • Unlock previously submitted data for edits

  • Navigate directly to input forms and reports

Organization Chart Configuration

Creates a structured representation of your organization's positions and hierarchy. This structure serves as the foundation for Compensation data collection.

Key capabilities:

  • Define position titles and reporting relationships

  • Build a department and level-based organizational structure

  • Designate positions as employee or outsourced/contract

  • Configure fiscal year-specific organizational charts

Invoices and Payments

Manages your Performance Analytics subscription, billing information, payment methods, and invoice history.

Key capabilities:

  • View subscription details and renewal dates

  • Update payment methods and billing information

  • Download invoices and receipts

  • Configure billing notification preferences

Common Administrative Workflows

Initial Platform Setup

  1. Update Organization Information

    • Complete the My Organization profile

  3. Configure Organizational Structure (Compensation only)

    • Build Organization Chart for current fiscal year

    • Position mapping for Compensation data

Annual Data Inclusion Process

  1. Prepare New Fiscal Year

  2. Manage User Access

    • Review and update user permissions

    • Deactivate accounts for departed staff

  3. Track Data Submissions

    • Use Analytics Contribution Tracker to monitor submission status

    • Ensure timely data submission after fiscal year end

Best Practices

  • Regular Maintenance:

    Review and update settings annually to ensure accuracy

  • Permissions Management:

    Limit the Organization Admin designation to necessary personnel only; keep in mind that accounts with access to this module can create and modify all user accounts and permissions

  • Documentation:

    Maintain internal documentation of your configuration choices and data input processes (could be reports from your transaction systems or excel worksheets, whatever works for your team)

  • Stay Up-To-Date:

    Use the Analytics Contribution Tracker to monitor data available for your org

  • Backup:

    Keep offline records of critical configuration and data info
